Leveling Up to Premier Tournament Play
Regional Championships attract 500 to 2,000+ competitive players competing for World Championship invites and thousands of dollars in prize money. Premier events enforce strict tournament rules and penalty structures.
Pre-Tournament Checklist
- Digital Decklist Submission: Most major tournaments require submitting decklists online (via RK9 Labs or Limitless) by 8:00 AM on Day 1. Submitting a single card name error results in a Game Loss penalty.
- Fresh Outer Sleeves: Re-sleeve your deck with brand-new, opaque sleeves the night before. Sleeves with tiny corner bends or seam splits can be ruled as "marked cards."
- Double-Sleeving: Protect your cards against accidental drink spills using tight inner sleeves (like KMC Perfect Fits) paired with matte outer sleeves.
Handling In-Game Judge Calls
If a rule interaction is unclear or your opponent makes a illegal move:
- Raise your hand immediately and state loudly: "Judge!"
- Pause the game state completely—do not draw or move cards until the judge arrives.
- If you believe a floor judge misapplied a rule, state calmly: "I would like to appeal to the Head Judge." Head judge rulings are final.
